Ferocious Eagle - the sea anemone...
Written by Aaron Cynic

Ferocious Eagle - the sea anemone inside of me is mighty (CD) (54/40' or FIGHT! records)

An offshoot evolution of traditional post punk, Ferocious Eagle bring the jams with their first full length album titled "the sea anemone inside of me is mighty." The record sounds as strange as their name, as this baseless trio jump ropes the line between indie rock, noise rock, and experimental weirdness. "The sea anemone inside of me is mighty" interestingly grooves from start to finish, all the while attempting to make as little sense as possible. Spending plenty of time on the high end of their guitars, Ferocious Eagle show us that math rock can simultaneously break apart a song while keeping it glued together.

Highlights and Lowlights: One particular song doesn't really stick out ahead of any others on this record - all of the tracks are solid jams.

Overall: 3 out of 5. Ferocious Eagle have the talent and the moxie to bring the rock, edging ever so close to sounding like a young, new millennial Fugazi. A valiant effort leaving you wondering what may come next.
